Why is there a need to add the word ‘Innovation” to  Management  Cybernetics? Cybernetics as explained by Professor Stafford Beer is the science of self organizing systems (systems S!,S2, S3, S4,and S5). A problem

Hello all!

I suggest that most of you know from "Heart of the Enterprise" that the cornerstone of VSM is variety management.

But how to define this variety is still out of my knowledge. Stafford Beer as I know clearly defines only minimum variety level as actuality, capability and potentiality. Is it enough for management, is it enough for a system as whole? How to check it without crisis?

If you know more about variety, how to define necessary variety or what should be controlled in obligatory manner, please share it in Variety analysis and management discussion

Preliminary answer - Variety is what system see. But there should be already done somehow formalised agreement between different viewers (systems) and viewpoints based on their experience in different contexts. Do you known anything about?

Я думаю, что многие из вас читали "Сердце предприятия" и увидели, что управление разнообразием есть суть жизнеспособной системы.

Но как определить тот необходимый уровень разнообразия все еще открытый вопрос для меня. Конечно, Стаффорд Бир определил три важнейших индекса: actuality, capability и potentiality. Но достаточно ли этого для управления, для всей системы в целом?

Если есть мысли о разнообразии, как определить этот уровень, что должно контроллироваться системой в обязательном порядке, пожалуйста поделитесь в конференции Variety analysis and management.

Предварительным ответом можно считать, что разнообразие определяется самой системой, но должен быть накопленный и хотя бы немного формализованный опыт оценки разнообразия в различных контекстах.
